REDLANDS, California — Welsh Insurance Services has achieved Platinum Provider Status with UnitedHealthCare, another strong indication of the Redlands-based insurance company’s local leadership in sorting clients through the confusion of Medicare.
Sarah and Scott Welsh, the owners of the local insurance business, both achieved platinum status from UnitedHealth Care — the world’s largest health care company by revenue.
Receiving the platinum status means Welsh Insurance Services is ranked in the top 1% of agents who work with UnitedHealthcare Medicare Solutions, which is based in Minnesota.
“It’s quite an honor,” said Scott Welsh. “We really try to make understanding Medicare easier. The challenge is real, and with so many people reaching the age to qualify for Medicare, there are a lot of confused people out there. That’s why we enjoy helping them so much.”
Welsh Insurance Services conducts no-cost, no-obligation consultations to help clients nearing retirement to understand their health care options. Individual meetings are generally one hour and are conducted at the Welshes’ office, located next to the former Social Security office in Redlands.

“Our approach to finding a suitable health plan includes the consideration of the client’s preferred medical providers, prescription drugs, and budget,” Welsh said. “We get paid by the health plan, so there are absolutely no broker’s fees. The people are our clients, and we want them to feel like their needs are being met.”
